Michael has 25 years’ experience working with clients, design teams, contractors, building operators, and fellow engineers on a wide range of projects providing building system optimization services. He has successfully commissioned over 100 new and existing buildings, and performed energy optimization studies on hundreds more. He has worked on over 90 LEED projects ranging from Certified to Platinum. In addition to commissioning and retro-commissioning services he offers solutions to reduce operation and maintenance costs by providing energy auditing services, rate analyses, and specialized HVAC analyses. As an ASHRAE Certified Commissioning Process Management Provider (CPMP) and Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) he has the proven ability and experience in providing commissioning services as well as managing the commissioning process performed by other commissioning providers. As an ASHRAE Certified Building Energy Assessment Professional (BEAP) and Operations and Performance Management Professional (OPMP) he has the proven ability and experience of providing comprehensive operations and maintenance cost reduction solutions to building owners.

Michael is 1990 graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering (BS MET) and a veteran of the Iraq war where he served as the in theater Chief of Engineering for base reconstruction. Michael retired from the Wisconsin National Guard after 30 years of dedicated service. CERx Solutions LLC is a certified Veteran Owned Small Business. Prior to forming his own commissioning and energy solutions company he worked for 8 years at an energy services consulting firm where as Technical Director he lead the Energy Efficiency Team and formed and led the New Building Commissioning and Existing Building Retro-Commissioning teams. For 14 years prior, Michael served Exelon Corporation at multiple positions in the Fortune 200 energy company’s marketing and technical services departments providing energy consulting, commissioning, and energy efficiency services to commercial and industrial clients. Michael is an instructor for the Building Operator Certification (BOC) program where he teaches building facility managers and engineers throughout the Midwest.
